Why DiffDriver Clubsport?
Made by Haze Engineering in collaboration with Innovative Tuning, DiffDriver Clubsport extends the capability of many standalone ECUs to include advanced electronic differential control* for Subaru DCCD and similar units**.
Innovative Tuning noticed people with standalone engine computers kept buying standalone differential control systems which required them to run duplicate wiring to the ECU and diff controller from sensors spread throughout the vehicle (like throttle, speed, etc.) Despite the added weight, cost, and complexity, they ended up with basic differential control, and left their ECU out of the loop.
Another approach makes far more sense. Skip all the duplicate wiring and reduce your installation costs. Harness the sensor data, processing power, and data logging capability your standalone ECU already has. Run one control wire from ECU to DiffDriver Clubsport, and it does the rest.
Create your own custom diff control strategies, datalog them, optimize, and win!
How does it work?
DiffDriver Clubsport has built-in functionality to disable differential lockup while pulling a hydraulic or standard e-brake. It also has a full lock override which is useful for broken axle or stuck vehicle recovery, diagnostics, and more.
During normal operation, DiffDriver accepts a tuned duty cycle signal from your engine computer. You can tune it to suit any driver preference or type of racing, even give the driver on the fly adjustability, while DiffDriver does the heavy lifting and high current handling.
With a billet aluminum housing, encapsulated circuitry, Amphenol connector, and torture tested components designed to handle prolonged operation at full duty cycle if necessary, this module is ruggedized and quality engineered to last in a racing environment.
Two LEDs on the module provide an easy way to check status. One lights up when the power system is ready. The second indicates the current level of differential control output.
The simple 7 pin wiring, and 2 bolt mounting spacing, are laser etched on the unit for easy installation, and there’s an easily accessible fuse in case you have a wiring mishap.
*DiffDriver Clubsport is a universal add-on module which requires a PWM control signal input from a capable standalone ECU, digital dash, or other tuning device. Link and Haltech ECUs were used in initial testing, but most aftermarket standalones can output a PWM signal on an auxiliary output, or an unused ignition or injection output.
**Supports Subaru DCCD, or any similar electrically actuated differential up to 10 Amps
